Staff Accountant | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking Staff Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• - Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• - Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• - Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing supporting schedules and reports.
• - Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• - Participate in inventory costing and valuation processes.
• - Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• - Help maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
• - Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems specifically designed for manufacturing environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted-average).
• - Understanding of standard costing and variance analysis.
• - Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance relevant to manufacturing operations.
• - Experience with process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
