Staff Accountant | Hart, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and intercompany accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support inventory accounting, including cost tracking, valuation, and cycle count reconciliation.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Aid in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support to external auditors.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Help maintain and improve internal controls over financial processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • - 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • - Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles
  • - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills
  • - Experience with inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis
  • - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Bonus Qualifications

  • - Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • - Familiarity with inventory costing methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average) and their impact on financial statements.
  • - Knowledge of standard costing principles and variance analysis.
  • - Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules in a manufacturing environment.
  • - Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
