Staff Accountant | Otsego, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support inventory accounting, including cost accounting, variance analysis, and cycle counting.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
• Assist with the preparation of tax filings and respond to auditor requests.
• Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory costing and variance analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications
