Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for manufacturing applications.
- Specify, procure, install, and maintain laser welding equipment and associated tooling.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects or process deviations.
- Design and develop tooling and fixtures to support precise laser welding operations.
- Establish and monitor quality control parameters, conducting inspections and non-destructive testing of welds.
- Provide technical expertise and training to production staff on laser welding techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with R&D and design teams to integrate new products and materials into laser welding processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Deep understanding of laser welding principles, equipment, and processing parameters for various materials.
- Proficiency in metallurgy, material science, and their impact on weldability and post-weld material properties.
- Proven experience in developing, optimizing, and validating laser welding processes for manufacturing.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for laser weld defects and process inconsistencies.
- Familiarity with weld inspection techniques (destructive and non-destructive) and quality control methodologies.
- Experience with automation, robotics, and CAD/CAM software for integrating laser welding into production lines.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotic programming (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and automation systems.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization.
- Familiarity with advanced metrology and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for weld inspection.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for fixture design and weld process simulation.
