Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Haven that are seeking skilled Welding Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and materials.
• Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications for welding.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for welding quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and their impact on weld quality.
• Proven ability to develop, qualify, and optimize welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).

Bonus Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification
• Experience with robotic welding systems
• Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT)
• SolidWorks or other CAD software proficiency
