HR Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $127,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for production, technical, and administrative roles.
  • Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes within the manufacturing plant.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures compliant with labor laws and manufacturing standards.
  • Coordinate performance management programs, including reviews, goal setting, and professional development plans for the workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA) relevant to manufacturing operations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll for all plant employees, including hourly wage structures.
  • Drive training and development initiatives to enhance skills, productivity, and safety for the manufacturing workforce.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Extensive HR Generalist experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in labor relations, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, including OSHA regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement talent acquisition and retention strategies for production and skilled trade roles.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and leveraging data for HR decision-making.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in HR analytics and data visualization tools.
  • Previous HR experience in a multi-shift or 24/7 operational environment.
  • OSHA 30-hour General Industry certification.
