Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new and revised designs.
• Analyze and resolve design-related production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Select appropriate materials and components based on performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing)
• Knowledge of material science and selection for various applications (e.g., metals, plastics, composites)
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
• Ability to perform engineering calculations, simulations (e.g., FEA), and tolerance analysis
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design validation and optimization.
• Demonstrated expertise in specific manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, casting, additive manufacturing).
• Certification or experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining).
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA) for design automation or data analysis.
