IATF Quality Engineer | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Allendale that are seeking IATF Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IATF 16949 compliant quality management system processes.
• Conduct internal audits and manage external certification audits to ensure IATF 16949 adherence.
• Lead problem-solving activities using core tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) to address non-conformities and drive root cause analysis.
• Manage APQP activities, including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and PPAP submissions for new product launches and engineering changes.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their quality systems and products meet IATF 16949 requirements and company standards.
• Provide training and support to manufacturing teams on quality standards, tools, and methodologies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in IATF 16949 standards and their practical application.
• Proven ability to utilize core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) beyond basic application.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and train colleagues on quality principles and tools.
• Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for quality trend analysis.
• Bilingual in a relevant manufacturing language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, German).
