Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Manistee that are seeking Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new products and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications.
• Creates detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Conducts design reviews and implements feedback for continuous improvement.
• Performs simulations and analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
• Troubleshoots and resolves design-related issues during manufacturing and testing.
• Optimizes designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining).
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for design validation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design optimization.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond core expertise (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, welding).
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application in manufacturing.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
