Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Otsego seeking Tool and Die Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new dies, tools, and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain existing production tooling.
• Perform precision machining operations using lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of tools and dies to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool design and performance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship in Tool and Die Making or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manual and CNC machine tools
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and programming (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery
• Certification in a related field (e.g., machining, metallurgy)
• Experience with precision measurement tools and techniques
• Ability to perform basic welding or fabrication tasks
