Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Grandville that are seeking Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize tooling for manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify tooling needs and improve existing designs.
  • Perform root cause analysis on tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage tooling lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, and end-of-life disposition.
  • Develop and maintain tooling specifications, documentation, and best practices.
  • Evaluate new tooling technologies and materials to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) for tooling design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, CNC machining) and their tooling requirements.
  • Experience with tool life management, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting tooling issues.
  • Knowledge of material properties and their application in tooling design, including heat treatment and surface coatings.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., Moldflow, AutoForm) for tooling design and validation.
  • Familiarity with robotics and automation in a manufacturing context.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes (e.g., additive manufacturing, laser welding) and their tooling implications.
  • Certification in a relevant area (e.g., SolidWorks Professional, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt).
  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to global manufacturing operations.
