Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Walker that are seeking Tool Makers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, repair, and modify tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
- Perform precision measurements using a wide range of inspection tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues.
- Maintain and repair existing production tooling and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff on tool design and improvement.
Recommended Qualifications
- Journeyman Toolmaker certification or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Expertise in operating a wide range of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties
- Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform quality inspections
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and programming
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and programming.
- Familiarity with EDM and/or laser cutting processes.
- Certification in a relevant skilled trade (e.g., machining, tool and die making).
- Proven ability to mentor or train junior tool makers.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
