Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Welding Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure weldability of new product designs.
  • Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and robotic systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and operators.
  • Implement and maintain welding quality control standards and inspection methods.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their application to different materials.
  • Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).
  • Proficiency in metallurgical analysis and failure investigation related to welded components.

Bonus Qualifications

  • AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification
  • Experience with robotic welding systems and programming
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software for fixture design and analysis
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and material science for failure analysis and material selection
