Salary Range: $56,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and modify precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment.
• Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs to ensure accuracy.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing tooling to prevent production downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tool Maker, including building, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling.
• Proficiency in operating a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs).
• Strong ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T specifications.
• Expertise in precision measurement techniques and the use of metrology equipment.
• Solid understanding of material properties, machining processes, and heat treatment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Experience operating and programming CMMs or other advanced metrology equipment
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or 5S methodology
• Welding or advanced fabrication skills for tool repair and modification
