Quality Engineer | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $72,000 - $106,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and procedures.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
• Lead and participate in internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure product quality from design to launch.
• Investigate and resolve customer quality complaints, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, FMEAs, and inspection procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing).
• Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems; IATF 16949 or AS9100 experience is a plus.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
• Proficiency with advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• Experience with specific Quality Management System (QMS) software (e.g., SAP QM, MasterControl).
• Internal or external auditing certification/experience.
