Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery, quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for critical materials to optimize cost and supply chain efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to prevent stockouts and minimize excess.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service metrics.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to broaden the supply base and mitigate risks.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects without compromising quality or lead times.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchase order management and inventory control.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and material requirements.
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles and logistics in a manufacturing context.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex).
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
• Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
