Staff Accountant | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• - Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• - Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• - Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
• - Support the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• - Participate in inventory accounting, including cycle counts and variance analysis.
• - Aid in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies.
• - Assist with audits and tax filings.
• - Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with cost accounting principles and inventory valuation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems specifically designed for manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
• - Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance within a manufacturing environment.
• - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their impact on financial reporting.
• - Certification such as CPA or CMA.
