Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials against specifications and drawings.
  • Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system.
  • Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Maintain and verify the calibration status of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to quality procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate inspection findings and potential issues to purchasing, engineering, and quality departments.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Familiarity with quality control principles, sampling plans (e.g., AQL), and defect classification.
  • Experience with data entry and basic quality management software or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inspection.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
  • Experience communicating quality issues with suppliers.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
