Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, program, and set up advanced CNC machinery for precision part manufacturing.
  • Lead and mentor a team of machinists, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of all machined components through rigorous inspection and measurement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues, including tool wear, machine malfunctions, and process inefficiencies.
  • Optimize machining parameters, tooling, and fixturing to enhance productivity, reduce scrap, and improve part quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new manufacturing processes and prototypes.
  • Manage daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and prioritize jobs to meet production deadlines.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years preferred) in precision CNC milling and turning operations.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM) and G-code programming.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop environment, including training and mentoring junior machinists.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and utilize a wide range of precision measurement tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills for complex machining challenges, process optimization, and machine troubleshooting.
  • Commitment to maintaining high quality standards and fostering a safe, efficient work environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for programming and toolpath generation.
  • Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, laser scanners).
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior machinists or apprentices.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
