Job Overview

In this position, you'll be responsible for preparing and coating metal parts using powder paint processes that ensure durability and consistency. From prepping and masking to troubleshooting and quality control, you'll be at the core of delivering high-performance finishes in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Whether you're coating a single prototype or a large production run, your craftsmanship will leave a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for powder coating through washing, sanding, taping, plugging, and hanging

  • Apply powder paint coatings in accordance with established procedures and part specifications

  • Follow detailed work instructions and safety protocols during all phases of production

  • Conduct basic quality checks and flag any issues with part finish or surface condition

  • Support color changes, part sequencing, and clean spray booth transitions

  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work area to ensure coating consistency and safety

  • Work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards

  • Collaborate with team members to improve paint line performance and efficiency

  • Retain process knowledge and apply it to reduce rework and improve cycle time

Recommended Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with powder painting or industrial coating processes

  • Solid understanding of surface preparation and coating techniques

  • Familiarity with paint booth operations, safety standards, and PPE requirements

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, or visual aids

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with automated or semi-automated coating systems

  • Knowledge of paint line changeovers and chemical wash systems

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

  • Previous success meeting PPM or other quality metrics in a production setting
