Position Summary

As an Asset Accounting Coordinator, you'll work closely with both the Finance team and cross-functional departments to maintain accurate records of fixed assets and leases. You'll support monthly close activities, assist with reconciliations, and help improve the systems used to track equipment and job costs. This role is ideal for someone who's eager to learn, naturally detail-oriented, and ready to deepen their understanding of real-world accounting processes in a fast-paced setting.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist in maintaining and updating fixed asset records, including new acquisitions and disposals

  • Prepare routine journal entries related to depreciation, lease payments, and adjustments

  • Support lease accounting compliance by collecting data and maintaining accurate classifications

  • Reconcile asset-related general ledger accounts across multiple entities

  • Help gather job-cost inputs from operations teams to support asset tracking

  • Contribute to monthly close tasks, including reconciliations and audit support

  • Identify and correct data inconsistencies in lease and asset transactions

  • Maintain spreadsheets, reports, and documentation for capital assets and leases

  • Collaborate with team members on general accounting support and special projects

  • Participate in documenting procedures and identifying ways to improve workflows

What You'll Need

  • Associates degree in Accounting required; Bachelors preferred or in progress

  • 13 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping

  • Basic understanding of GAAP principles, journal entries, and ledgers

  • Excel proficiency comfortable with pivot tables, formulas, and templates

  • Familiarity with any ERP system (Sage 100 experience is a plus)

  • A problem-solver who asks questions and enjoys learning how things work

  • Team-oriented, dependable, and organized in managing daily tasks

  • Exposure to lease accounting or capital asset tracking

  • Experience in a manufacturing, service, or job-costing environment
