About the Role
As a Lease & Asset Accounting Associate, you'll support the financial tracking of leased and capital assets, contributing to accurate reporting, monthly close activities, and cross-department coordination. You'll gain valuable exposure to fixed asset systems, lease accounting standards, and job costing processes while developing the skills to pivot into more advanced responsibilities over time.
What You'll Be Responsible For

Record and track fixed asset activity, including purchases, retirements, and transfers

Assist with posting monthly journal entries for depreciation and lease payments

Help manage lease data and maintain compliance with ASC 842 classification standards

Reconcile general ledger accounts tied to asset and lease balances

Support the preparation of month-end reporting and audit documentation

Identify and resolve transactional discrepancies related to asset activity

Maintain internal spreadsheets and templates used for tracking and analysis

Collaborate with internal teams to gather data related to job costs and service billing

Provide backup support for other accounting processes, including AP/AR and payroll entries

Participate in improving documentation and supporting workflow enhancements
What You Bring to the Table

Associates degree in Accounting required; Bachelors degree preferred or in progress

13 years of accounting experience in a business or operations-driven environment

Understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger structure

Strong Excel skills comfortable using pivot tables, formulas, and formatting tools

Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage 100 or similar preferred but not required)

Curiosity to understand how systems connect and impact financial reporting

Organized, dependable, and ready to take initiative
