Weld Technician | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across East Lansing seeking Weld Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding using various techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) on a range of materials.
• Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications and blueprints.
• Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, scheding, and work instructions to determine welding requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize welding processes and resolve technical issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Welding Technology or a related field.
• AWS Certified Welder (CW) certification, preferably D1.1 Structural Steel.
• Proficiency in various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial welding environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of welding safety practices and quality control standards.

Bonus Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification or equivalent experience
• Experience with robotic welding systems
• Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, VT)
• CAD software proficiency for fixture design
