Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops new tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
  • Optimizes existing tooling for improved efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
  • Collaborates with production, design, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications.
  • Manages tooling procurement, maintenance, and inventory.
  • Utilizes CAD/CAM software for tooling design and simulation.
  • Develops and maintains tooling documentation and standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, materials, and their impact on tooling performance.
  • Experience with mold design, progressive dies, and fixture design.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and manufacturing (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, Mastercam).
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding, such as stamping, casting, or machining.
  • Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques for tooling validation (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
  • Certification in relevant areas like GD&T, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, C#) for automation or data analysis related to tooling.
