Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and preventive maintenance on precision measurement equipment.
  • Conduct accurate dimensional measurements of components and assemblies using CMMs, vision systems, and manual gauges.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive records of calibration activities, measurement results, and equipment history.
  • Analyze measurement data to verify product compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement accuracy, equipment functionality, or process deviations.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs for automated inspection routines.
  • Support quality control initiatives by providing metrology expertise for root cause analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with measurement uncertainty principles and calibration processes.
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model-based inspection.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software (e.g., Minitab) for data analysis.
  • Prior experience with advanced metrology systems such as laser trackers or structured light scanners.
