Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage tooling procurement, maintenance, repair, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams on new product tooling requirements.
  • Develop and implement tooling standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Improve tooling performance, lifespan, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure all tooling meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing tooling (e.g., molds, dies, jigs, fixtures).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Mastercam).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, injection molding, or casting.
  • Knowledge of material science, heat treatment, and surface finishes relevant to tooling applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Proficiency with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or simulation software for tool design validation.
  • PMP or other recognized project management certification.
