EHS Manager | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventative measures.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for all employees.
• Manage hazardous waste streams and ensure proper disposal in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Promote and foster a strong safety culture throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Prepare and submit all required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills to foster a proactive safety culture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Experience with EHS management software implementation or administration.
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local workforce.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles and ESG reporting frameworks.
