Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to define measurement strategies.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using CMM for dimensional verification.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Calibrate CMM equipment and maintain its operational readiness, accuracy, and preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Troubleshoot CMM hardware, software, and programming issues to ensure accurate and efficient operation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles and various measurement techniques.
  • Experience with CMM setup, operation, and routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting skills for CMM programs and measurement anomalies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., laser scanners, vision systems, optical comparators).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model analysis or fixture design.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
