Facilities Manager | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $87,000 - $133,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all preventative and reactive maintenance for manufacturing equipment, building systems, and infrastructure.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, environmental (HSE) regulations and internal policies for facility operations.
• Develop, manage, and monitor the annual facilities budget, including capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX).
• Plan and execute facility layout changes, expansions, and space optimization projects to support production requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts for facility services, utilities, and external maintenance support.
• Implement energy management programs and sustainability initiatives to reduce utility consumption and operational costs.
• Lead facility-related projects from planning to completion, such as equipment installations, renovations, and site improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing facilities operations, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, utilities) and comprehensive preventative maintenance programs.
• Proven ability to manage facility-related projects, including renovations, upgrades, and equipment installations, from conception to completion.
• In-depth understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), environmental compliance, and local building codes relevant to manufacturing.
• Experience developing and managing operational and capital budgets for facility maintenance and improvements.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience managing facilities in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, food & beverage).
• LEED AP or other recognized sustainability/energy management certifications.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or proven experience applying lean principles to facilities operations.
• Advanced proficiency with CMMS/CAFM systems, including implementation or optimization projects.
• Experience with specialized manufacturing infrastructure such as cleanrooms, hazardous material storage, or high-purity utility systems.
