Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first-off production parts against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Generate and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) accurately, including AS9102 forms or customer-specific documentation.
• Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Interpret complex GD&T callouts, blueprints, and manufacturing process specifications to ensure part conformity.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances or deviations to engineering and production teams.
• Maintain and verify the calibration status of all inspection tools and equipment used.
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production personnel to resolve inspection-related issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application.
• Skilled in the operation of precision measuring equipment, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and generating AS9102 reports.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with advanced metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, PolyWorks)
• AS9100/ISO 9001 internal auditor certification
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
• Experience training or mentoring junior inspectors
