Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs using CAM software for multi-axis milling machines.
  • Analyze engineering blueprints, 3D models, and specifications to determine machining processes.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for optimal performance.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to prevent collisions and ensure part accuracy.
  • Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency and part quality.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on new product introductions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths and G-code.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming, machining principles, and tooling.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
  • Proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC mills.
  • Knowledge of various materials, cutting tools, and their application in machining processes.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis CNC programming.
  • Proficiency in a secondary CAD/CAM software (e.g., NX CAM, HyperMill).
  • Knowledge of G-code and M-code editing or post-processor modification.
  • Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology techniques.
  • Ability to design custom workholding fixtures.
