Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other metal components.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine manufacturing processes and tolerances.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks, to ensure accuracy.
• Perform heat treating, welding, and assembly operations as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling and equipment during production runs.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tool design and performance.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and production times.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a tool and die apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training.
• Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker, demonstrating proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (e.g., lathes, milling machines, grinders).
• Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
• Ability to safely handle and maintain tools, machinery, and materials in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC programming and operation.
• - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tool design.
• - Knowledge of heat treating processes for tooling.
• - Certification in advanced machining techniques.
• - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
