Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and parts.
  • Verify incoming goods against purchase orders, specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
  • Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems or inspection reports.
  • Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Maintain detailed records of all inspection activities and material dispositions.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail for identifying visual and dimensional defects.
  • Basic understanding of quality control principles and sampling methods (e.g., AQL).
  • Competency in performing basic mathematical calculations and data entry for record-keeping.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for material tracking and lot control.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or other automated inspection equipment.
