Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize welding procedures and processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for various manufacturing applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct welding training and provide technical guidance to welding personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Design and implement quality control measures for welded components, including inspection and testing protocols.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of new products.
  • Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to improve production capabilities.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
  • Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and quality control standards.
  • Experience with various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW.
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding defects and implement corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • - Experience with advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods beyond basic visual inspection.
  • - Familiarity with robotic welding systems and automation in manufacturing.
  • - Knowledge of material science principles related to welding metallurgy and failure analysis.
  • - Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI, CWE).
  • - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
