Staff Accountant | Paw Paw, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment application, and collection efforts.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and management presentations.
• Support inventory accounting functions, including costing, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control policies and procedures.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, and analyze budget versus actual variances.
• Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as operations and procurement, to ensure accurate financial data.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
• - Understanding of inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average)
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles and practices in a manufacturing environment
• - Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, for data analysis
