Salary Range: $84,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Kalamazoo seeking Supplier Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs and procedures.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance data, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement in their processes.
• Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including inspection reports and certificates of analysis.
• Manage supplier non-conformance reporting and disposition of non-conforming materials.
• Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes, ensuring supplier readiness for new components and materials.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and ensure consistent quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in supplier quality management, including supplier audits, corrective action plans (CAPA), and supplier development.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and relevant industry standards.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA) techniques, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and reading technical drawings.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and analysis.
• - Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• - Certification in ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or equivalent.
• - Experience with root cause analysis methodologies like 8D or Fishbone.
• - Proficiency in CAD software for reviewing part drawings and designs.
