Salary Range: $77,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supplier quality assurance plans and procedures.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance through data analysis and key performance indicators.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in their processes and products.
  • Review and approve supplier documentation, including PPAPs and control plans.
  • Facilitate supplier development programs and training.
  • Manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and track their effectiveness.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in supplier quality management, auditing, and qualification within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Experience with supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and driving continuous improvement initiatives with external partners.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and analysis tools
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Certification in ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques like 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams
  • Experience with supplier auditing methodologies (e.g., VDA 6.3, ISO 19011)
