Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Whitehall that are seeking skilled Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products or improve existing ones, considering manufacturing constraints.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
• Conduct design analysis, simulations, and calculations to ensure performance and reliability.
• Specify appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes for designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize designs for production.
• Develop and manage Bills of of Material (BOMs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and material selection.
• Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Ability to apply GD&T principles and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience in prototyping, testing, and iterating designs based on performance data.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific manufacturing processes beyond basic machining (e.g., injection molding, additive manufacturing, advanced composites).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or assembly of physical products.
• Proficiency in advanced simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for complex analysis.
