Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise measurements of manufactured components using various metrology equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain a wide range of measurement tools and gauges to ensure accuracy.
  • Interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and GD&T symbols to determine measurement requirements.
  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other automated inspection systems.
  • Document measurement results, create inspection reports, and analyze data for quality control.
  • Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and assist in root cause analysis for non-conforming parts.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of measurement processes and procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using and calibrating a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., CMMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience with CMM programming and operation using industry-standard software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Knowledge of metrology best practices, calibration procedures, and relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Associate's degree in Metrology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Advanced programming experience with CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification.
  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Gage R&R analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
