Robotics Technician | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial robotic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software malfunctions in robotic cells.
  • Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments to restore robotic functionality and optimize performance.
  • Assist with the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new robotic equipment.
  • Conduct basic programming, teach point adjustments, and path modifications for robotic applications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company standards during all work on robotic systems.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including PLC diagnostics.
  • Proven experience with preventative and corrective maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Understanding of industrial safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) for robot integration and cell control.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for reviewing mechanical drawings or minor fixture modifications.
  • Familiarity with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for guidance or inspection applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
