Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Operate and set up a variety of manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
- Interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Perform precise measurements and inspections using a range of metrology equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing tooling to optimize production processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new tools and improve existing designs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of tool specifications, repairs, and and modifications.
Recommended Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (e.g., mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs).
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, optical comparators).
- In-depth knowledge of various metals, alloys, and their properties, including heat treatment processes.
Bonus Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
- Experience with CNC programming (e.g., G-code, conversational programming).
- Knowledge of advanced precision measurement and inspection equipment (e.g., CMM operation).
- Familiarity with heat treatment processes for various tool steels.
