Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify new packaging solutions for manufactured products.
• Optimize existing packaging for cost reduction, material efficiency, and sustainability.
• Conduct testing and validation of packaging materials and designs to ensure product protection and integrity.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and external suppliers to integrate packaging requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues on the production line to minimize downtime and waste.
• Ensure all packaging solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
• Manage packaging projects from initial concept through to successful implementation and launch.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging development and design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD) for packaging design and specification.
• Strong knowledge of various packaging materials, testing methodologies (e.g., ISTA, ASTM), and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize packaging for cost, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) designation from IoPP
• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA for drop testing, material flow)
• Demonstrated experience with sustainable packaging initiatives or circular economy principles
