Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking Quality Inspectors who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify adherence to specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records of accepted and rejected items.
• Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate containment actions.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality standards to ensure proper inspection criteria are applied.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to investigate root causes of defects and support corrective actions.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Solid understanding of quality control methodologies and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with relevant quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
• Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation or programming.
• Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting 3D CAD models.
