Staff Accountant | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $56,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Charlotte seeking Staff Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams with complex transactions and inquiries.
• Participate in inventory accounting, including costing, variance analysis, and physical inventory counts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Experience with inventory costing methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted-average).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles and methods specific to manufacturing environments.
• - Certification such as CPA or CMA.
• - Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
