Advanced Quality Engineer | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $89,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities for new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Apply advanced statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and process capability studies to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
• Drive complex problem-solving initiatives using methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, or Shainin to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain Process FMEAs and Control Plans to mitigate risks and ensure robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve supplier performance, and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Conduct internal and external quality system audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) to ensure adherence to standards and company procedures.
• Implement and champion continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in core quality tools and methodologies (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D).
• Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality management systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
• Proficiency in advanced statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) or data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R)
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies
• ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
