Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for multi-axis milling machines.
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates to achieve desired part specifications and efficiency.
  • Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and work instructions for machine operators.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect potential collisions, errors, and optimize tool paths before production.
  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot machining issues and implement program adjustments.
  • Continuously review and improve existing programs to reduce cycle times, minimize material waste, and enhance part quality.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code, tooling, and machining principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proven experience in CNC programming for multi-axis milling operations.
  • Aptitude for optimizing machining processes, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Solid understanding of materials, cutting tools, and workholding strategies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis simultaneous programming.
  • Proficiency in designing custom workholding and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with advanced G-code editing and machine-side troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of metrology principles and CMM programming basics.
