Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling machines using CAM software.
  • Generate efficient and safe tool paths considering material, tooling, and machine capabilities.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for various machining operations.
  • Perform program simulation and verification to prevent collisions and ensure part quality.
  • Create and maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists, and program documentation.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to optimize machining processes for reduced cycle times and enhanced tool life.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) and CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming and machining principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Proven experience in programming 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and material properties for various manufacturing applications.
  • Relevant technical degree or certification in Machining Technology or CNC Programming.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with independent machine simulation software (e.g., Vericut, NCSIMUL).
  • Knowledge of fixture design principles and workholding strategies.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with advanced G-code editing and optimization directly at the machine control.
