Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor CNC Swiss Lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Perform machine setups, including tool installation, offset adjustments, and program loading for new jobs.
• Conduct in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
• Load raw material bar stock into the machine and manage chip removal and coolant levels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, tool wear issues, and part quality discrepancies during production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and M-code to understand part requirements and machine operations.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machines.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and basic G/M-code editing for program optimization.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and optical comparators.
• Demonstrated experience with in-process inspection, quality control procedures, and troubleshooting machining issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., optical comparators, CMMs, surface finish testers).
• Demonstrated ability to optimize tooling selection and machining parameters for improved efficiency and tool life.
• Proficiency in making minor G-code program adjustments for optimization or troubleshooting.
• Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, continuous improvement).
