Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
• Load raw material into bar feeders and ensure proper machine lubrication and coolant levels.
• Read and interpret blueprints, G-code programs, and process sheets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, tool wear issues, and part quality deviations.
• Execute minor program edits and offset adjustments to maintain part tolerances.
• Complete production logs, quality records, and other required documentation.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, G-code, and M-code for machine operation and basic program editing.
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for in-process inspection.
• Experience with tool changes, offsets, and making adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for machine and process issues to ensure optimal part quality and production efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in G-code programming or advanced editing.
• Experience with CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker).
• Advanced metrology experience (e.g., CMM, optical comparator operation).
• Tooling selection and optimization expertise for various materials.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodology experience.
