Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of fabricators, assigning tasks and managing performance.
- Oversee all fabrication processes, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, engineering specifications, and blueprint requirements.
- Optimize production schedules and resource allocation to meet manufacturing targets.
- Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication equipment, ensuring proper functionality and minimal downtime.
- Implement and enforce all safety protocols and procedures within the fabrication area.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving expertise to the fabrication team.
- Conduct training and development for new and existing team members on fabrication techniques and equipment.
Recommended Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, including welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), cutting, and forming.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor a team of fabricators.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and shop mathematics.
- Experience with fabrication equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Bonus Qualifications
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen)
- Advanced welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX)
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for production tracking and scheduling
